Taking it's toll on me

eLIZabeth
my life has been one hell of a rollercoaster ride this wk.

there's the family drama, sch bitches to deal with and of course, the never-ending flow of assignments.
god, i NEED a break!

HR assignment is due next fri and i have yet to receive an interview reply from aunt anna. i've been rushing her and still, no reply. wonder wad went wrong. she agreed to it in the first place...
mkting aint easy and i'm finding myself struggling real bad.

duck is returning to indo for gd nxt yr... i cant bear for her to leave... will miss her loads...
sigh, it's really chaotic at home.
mum has been throwing a hissy fit almost every single day. it's srsly eating me up!!!

dizzy spinning round and round

my life is basicaly revolving round giving tuition and of course, the inevitable sch life. everything bout me is all regarding assignments and the usual sch stuff. glad that i've completed my HR indivdual assignment. currently working on the marketing individual assignment though. so freakin stress with all these crap which wrecks havoc to my helpless brain cells.
it's crazy!

so far, term 3 seems pretty interesting. if you're interested to know, i'm taking managerial acct, marketing and HR. the lecturers for HR and MA are serious bout their job and that's realy cool to me. at least i know that i'm able to secure a couple more A's. lol.
in contrary, i detest my marketing lecturer. she's full of nonsense. it's hard to believe that she teaches MBA classes. like yea, probably in schs which provides fake certs.
goodness, no one is able to stand her bullshit. she speaks loudly and gestures madly. i think she makes a fool out of herself during lecture. GET OUT!!

on a lighter note, i'm happy that i did well to advance to this sem. a series of nightmare has past and i swear to god that over my dead body will i retake sem 2.
(comm- B, financial acct- A, stats- A)
but then there's this saying that goes: when a door shuts, another opens.
so i dunt reckon that i'm able to run away from another series of nightmare. (this time round, it comes in the form of sem 3. sigh...)

yest dad was tuning in to Channelnewsasia and guess wad, there's an interview w ris low, the infamous ex ms sg. they were asking bout her ambitiona nd future planning and she mentioned sth bout starting her own bakery biz... blahblahblah... recruiting ex offenders... giving them a 2nd chance... yadayada.
one, she's probably taking bout herself being an criminal offender.
two, she's studying tourism and hospitality. wad's it gotta do w bakery and stuff. she's obviously wasting time and $$.
RIS LOW IS SUCH A JOKE.

anw lately, i've been reading My Sister's Keeper. it's a great read! the story is bout a mother who gives birth to Kate who's diagnosed w leukemia. in order to save her daughter, she conceives Anna who's genetically structured to provide Kate w suitable life support.
when Anna grows up, she found that she has had enough giving Kate her blood and bone marrow. everytime Kate suffers a relapse, she has to be hospitalised along too. moreover, her mum wouldn't give her attention unless she needs Anna to help Kate.
finally, Anna decides to sue her mum over the right of her own body.

how interesting!!!
i cant wait for the movie to be out!

(p/s: i totally dis the New Moon OST sang by DCFC. wad kinda song is that? Meet Me On The Equinox???
ewww.
i want Paramore back. they do a much (X infinity) better job w their rockin gd music.)

that's me for you

my sem-end hol seems to race faster than lewis' mclaren mercedes in sun's f1 race!

3wks of break sounds like a long luxury right?
you're wrong pal.

i was freakin busy! got my hands busy w dance, work, tuition and believe it or not, i hardly have time for myself.
in the end, my face has become a definition of disaster. i'm having pimples all over!!! tell me that this is a nightmare.

how was my day at sch today?
hmmm... let's see.
on my 1st day of sem 3, i looked forward to seeing my classmates again.
lecture today's managerial accts. it's tough like brick. half the time, i tried convincing myself that i dunt have to know so much during the 1st lecture. i'm sure that i'll grasp a wee bit as time goes by. pls i dunt wanna start panicking.
the lecturer speaks w a lil slang and i thought that his clothes are a size too big. yet, i like the fact that he mixes a pinch of seriousness and injects a syringe of fun.
hopefully, i get to do as well or better than sem 2.

okay, enough of my rantings. here's wad a did 2 days ago...
i met up w dear yip at j8 to watch 4bia 2. in short, all 5 parts have lame endings. though the first shows' a lil more interesting, i thought that it shouldnt end the way it did.
the last show was real funny. i like the 4 guys. they have chemistry.
still, yip covered her ears while i covered my eyes throughout the show.
lame right, who'd pay to cover their eyes while watching a movie?
haha. well, that's me for you! lol.

the movie ended and we chilled at swensens. we talked bout some stuff and yip was urging me to blog more often.
i'll try...
sch term has just commence and i'll be immensely busy w assignments and stuff.
sigh.

this is wad i truly like bout hanging out w yip: we can talk bout anything under the sun and go on and on bout a single topic. moreover, she offers me a diff perspective when i see the bad side of a sitation.

thanks for everything yip. i hope that we can hang out very often.   <33

alrightey, i shall post my batam pics when there's time.

THEBES, i'll see you guys this fri! here's an advanced HAPPY 20TH BIRTHDAY jiesheng!!!

eLIZabeth
i'm feeling lazy to post pics of last mon's cycling trip at east coast w angie, jason and yl.
it's all in fb. you can check it out there.

the weather was clear and cool as we arrived right after it rained.

as you guys already know... i dunt cycle.
the seat is awefully uncomfortable and yl is gg on an unbelievable speed.
yikes!

at last, 2 gruelling hrs of cycling is over and i've never felt so relieved!  *phew!*
we made our way to parkway parade's pasta mania for dinner, then headed down to a mooncake fest held at level 1. there, we bought ice-cream mooncakes from bakerzin before hitching a ride to sengkang on a free shuttle bus.

(working)

today's my 2nd and last day standing in for Mumtaz as a receptionist at xy's aunts' workplace. it's pretty cool. there're angmohs and in addition, the staffs are nice.
though the job is boring, the pay never fail to brighten me up!
you'd be surprise to know that i spend my entire day fb-ing and chatting w fann ming online. lol.

this wk is coming to an end and i'm on the verge of throwing a party right away.
i've been giving tuition, working, dancing, helping mum out, teaching beta... i dunt have time for myself!!!
will be flying to indo next wk. it's gonna be a short getaway (though my main purpose is to attend a relative's wedding).

i'm tired. there's still tuition tonight.   :((

the aircon's a tad too cold,
my contacts are dry,
my shoulders are aching.

HELP!!!

in half an hrs' time, my sem 2's results are gonna be posted online.
i'm scared stiff. really worried... SO DAMN FREAKIN WORRIED!

With Drooping Eyelids zzzZZ...

  • Sep. 15th, 2009 at 11:21 PM
eLIZabeth

the weather today has been DEPRESSINGLY hazy and sad. it is also unpredictable as the bleeding colors of the night sky along w the howling wind gives me the impression that it's gonna rain any moment.

sigh.

anw, it has been absolute craziness this wk- esp today!!!
woke up at 6am for a jog then went marketing w tin. followed by that, i came home at 12+ to prepare udon for sis. soon, i started baking oatmeal raisin cookies (the results are GREAT!) and finally i end my super exhausting day w tuition.
well i'm just glad that another day has passed.

tomorrow's gonna spent marking tuition homeworks, pedicure, helping out in mum's salon and ballet.

thurs and fri's gonna be pretty exciting. i'll be helping out in xinyi's aunts' workplace. it's an ad-hoc thing. but heck, it sounds like fun! i'm already looking forward to it!   :))

treat of the day: oatmeal raisin cookies.
everyone's swooning over them already. i'm glad that today's baking effort's a remarkable success! SALUD!

i'm weary

eLIZabeth
so much has been going on in the past few days. there's simply too many inner conflict and i dont think i can handle any more of this.
squabbled w mum mins ago bout some chalet. sigh. i'm sick and tired of this.
and to xxx, pls stop pushing me!!!

as much as i hate to push others, i hate it when ppl try to push me into doing sth which i'm reluctant to do.

in addition, the exams are next wk and all the mods are giving me the unnecessary pressure. i didnt know why but this sem just feels plain sucky. the assignments were madness and the mods are getting nowhere but tougher.

i'm just glad that amidst all these hectic-ness, there's still something for me to look forward to. yest has been great. subconsciously everything has been playing out in my head like it's on repeat mode. i know it's crazy but though i highly doubt that this is gonna work out, i still hope (against hope) that sth gd will come out of it.

keeping my fingers crossed now, i gotta get on w my studies.
wish me luck peppz!

Busy busy

eLIZabeth

WOW!!!
it has been almost a month since i last blog!

been up to my neck lately. everything's just passing by so quickly. last month has been pure madness. assignments come one after another and it goes on and on...
on top of the reports, we've been busy preparing slides, scripts and surveys. we reviewed the criteria sheet at the last min and found that we didnt do according to wad's required so everything has to be amended.
besides the hectic life, most of us find that we've to cope with another rising problem- free riders. it's tough coz when you've so much to do already, others are just throwing in a couple of nonsense and you have to work on their jobs too.
moreover, i've been losing my thumbdrive over and over again!
the first time, i'm lucky to find it in the comp lab, where i left it. the next week, i lose it again. this time round i wasnt so lucky. someone must have taken it.   T.T

anw, i'm super relieved that the assignment period's over. gotta start revising for the exams. i'm really looking forward to my sem-end hol. it's gonna be a month of relaxation and enjoyment.   :)

btw, this yr's ndp was spectacularly stunning!!! a pity that i merely watch it on tv. anyhow, great job peppz!!! i love the creativity and originality. so proud that given the limited space, the performers and choreographers are still able to put up a truly memorable show!!!
HAPPY BELATED 44TH BIRTHDAY SG!!!

alrightey gotta log off now. there's lesson today at 2pm. ciao!

last sun, i had one the greatest time of my life, my family, grandpa, a distant relative and mum&dad's friends went to pulau ubin for a yummy durian feast!
it was an awesome experience!!!
shall post pics soon.

on that night, i also got myself a brand new phone! it's a grey sony ericsson W508.  =))

and just yest, i finished reading For One More Day by my fav author- mitch albom. his stories are always touching and obviously, this book moved me to tears. it's a great read! hope to buy the entire collection someday.

2 movies a day!!! WOW.

  • Jul. 1st, 2009 at 11:40 AM
eLIZabeth

last wed, yip, xinyi and i finally (i'm not bluffing this time) got to watch Ghost of Girlfriends Past. i missed the first 15mins.
know why?
promise not to laugh.

i took the bus to amk hub and on the way, yip called...
"liz, where're you now?"
"oh, i'm on a bus. it's heading towards hougang ave 8."
"huh? on a bus? hurry ok? movie starts at 12noon!"
"12noon? i checked this morn and it says 1220pm. maybe xinyi wants us to arrive early.."
"not 12noon? hmmm, just hurry down!"
*click*

after we hung up, i pondered why yip sounded surprise when i told her that i was in a bus and why she insists that movie starts at 12noon.
i called back.

"yip, erm... we're watching at amk hub right?"
"NO LIZ!!! DIDNT XINYI TILD YOU TO MEET US AT CATHAY??"

goodness, you have no idea how a heartattack feels like.

the movie was just so-so. for lunch, we ate at Astons. now i know why the queue is always ssssooooo long. the food is good plus the price is cheap.  =))

that night, i met josias for the movie Transformer 2 at Lido. it was a fantastic (X infinity)show! i really couldnt understand wad the hoohaa's all about in the papers thesedays. these people have nth to do but to scratch out every minute flaws they can find in the movie. so ridiculous!
after the show, we had dinner at a small cafe.

my belated 20th w thebes

  • Jul. 1st, 2009 at 11:14 AM
eLIZabeth

and so, my june hol is coming to an end. didnt expect myself to be reallyreallyreallyreallyreally busy!!
but hey, that's a good thing. i like being busy. it beats rotting at home and wasting my time!

okay. so two sats ago (20/06), i celebrated my belated bday w THEBES at marina square HotPot Culture. the food is good... though i found the variety to be limited and the price a little too pricey. still, the company rocks!!!

after dinner, we took some pics and headed towards Harry's bar to drink. it's really fun!
btw, thanks yip, xinyi, ky, js, kiat and ms for coming. also, thank you so much for the roxy bag. i love it!

yip and xinyi look great in this pic!

the award-winning "pic of the day". HAHAHA.

eye-itchy

  • Jun. 17th, 2009 at 12:37 AM
eLIZabeth
just saw my results. it's nth surprising.
eng- B
math- A
mgmt- C
those i expected a C for mgmt, i still feel a slight pinch of disappointment. the letter "C" is such an eyesore. cant belive i screwed up the last qn which is worth 20m.

speakin of eyesore, i had to cancel my meet-up w a friend and an impromtu tuition lesson w my student as i'm down w red-eye.
it's either itchy and dry or pain and teary.   :(

hence i spend the morning cooking tapioca in palm syrup. it turns out pretty yummy. tin mentioned that i did a great job.   :))

nth much has been gg on. life has been boring. the jun hol is boring.
been arguing a lot, w mum lately about the new house layout. everyone's unhappy w her decisions. RAH wadeva.
i only look forward to the night when i play mahjong w sa, bel and beta, or watch The Brink of Law (hk drama) in chanel u.
been too lazy to exercise and stuff.
though i'm over the moon for losing 3 kg (i'm now 45.2kg), i find that maintaining the weight proves to be a challenge. fighting culinary temptation is never an easy feat.

was reading yip's blog and i saw that there's bella's online journal. YIPPEE!!! this is surely sth for me to rejoice at.
meeting yip and xy tomorrow at somerset. we're finally gonna watch Ghosts of Girlfriends Past! finally.  :)

The Long Wait

eLIZabeth

i'm pretty certain that js is gonna proud of me... I'VE COMPLETED READING THE TWILIGHT SEQUELS!!!
YAY!!!
i love the beautiful ending. it's good... not fantastic coz i expected more fight screens.
bel's reading so much faster than me. she's halfway into eclipse. good job girl.
btw, we both agreed that new moon is so many times better than eclipse.

now, i'm reading this very interesting thriller- The Book of Names. it's slightly similar to Dan Brown's books.

oh lately, my wallet's experiencing drought from watching moves.
monsters vs aliens is a cute movie. sad to say, i slept during the first half.
terminator salvation is good (the last half). sad to say, i also slept through the first half.
hannah montana is FANTASTIC! songs are awesome, guy is hot and story line's great.
there're still a couple of movies which i wanna watch... Dance Subaru, Ghost of Girlfriend Past, New Moon and Harry Potter 6.

so besides giving tuition, helping mum in her shop, teaching beta and dancing, i've been slacking. haha. though it feels good, it makes me guilty. i could do other things rather than to sit in front of the tv or comp and rot.
have been tuning in to mtv lately and i saw a terribly attractive green guitar in All American Reject's video, Gives You Hell. in addition, the script came up w a new video, Talk You Down. very creative. lastly, david cook released a video for Come Back To Me.  :):):)

btw, yest's article mentioned that adam lambert's gay. sigh. i knew this is a fact. yet, i hate to face up to it until it's publicized. lol.

it was also mentioned that Singfest'll be postpone. heard from a friend that britney spears and katy perry might be turning up.
i reallyreallyreally pray that david cook comes to sg soon. i'm super hooked to his songs!!!

finally, we've decided to buy Fiorenza, the cheese-inspired design apartment, after many trips to all kinds of show houses.
piling will only commence this mth so the project'll probably finish in bout 2yrs time.

Dreams= Happiness= Drive

  • May. 17th, 2009 at 11:31 PM
eLIZabeth

i'm tired.
have been out the entire day!

after tuition this morning, my family and i went to grandpa's house for lunch.
there, i had a very hilarious chat with uncle tom. he's super funny esp when talking about relationships. despite his humour, i can still sense his deep devotion to aunt adeline. uncle tom is a loyal and faithful husband hence this makes aunt adeline one lucky lady.
awww!!!

then we moved on and talked about property since mum and dad plans to buy one soon. he showed us the 4th property he plans to purchase. it's a hilltop villa, situated in phuket. ohmygoodness, IT'S SO DARN BEAUTIFUL!!!!!
no doubt, this is purely love at first sight!

wad's more? you wont believe that it cost SGD800,000!
so cheap (in comparison to an ordinary 5rm flat in Sg)!!!
in addition, the complementary yacht cost SGD1million. but of course, you can choose to do away with that. mum says that if we are going to buy this villa, she'll get me a car!
well... ... IF.
lol.

after that, we went to see a 4storey terrace nearby. it's nice and bright. too bad it cost close to SGD2million. it's way over our budget. hopefully, we are able to negotiate for a better price coz i like it loads.

sobsob, cant believe that danny's out of the AI competition. i thought that if 1 has to leave, it'll be kris. kris has a very typical country-boy look... nothing outstanding. vocal wise, his is mediocre.

unlike kris, danny has a raspy unique voice and sometimes i can feel that he sings from the heart.
even simon cowell commended him for his voice is of master-vocal-class quality.

anw, i'm putting all my money (not literally) on adam. hopefully, he does a ballad this wed coz too much screaming may scatter his votes.
GO ADAM!!!

American Idol Madness!!!

  • May. 13th, 2009 at 11:32 PM
eLIZabeth
so i've been super hooked to american idol season 8. it's insane!
the top 3 contestants are amazing!!! their stage presence, charisma and voice are total gems.
i cant imagine the outcome for tomorrow. i just want all of them to win!
really really hope that none will be eliminated tomorrow. this way, the level of anxiety and anticipation will be high! moreover, the final episode will seem more interesting.
woo-wee!!!

i'm voting for my other half, ADAM LAMBERT (not lam-bird)!
i <3 it when he hits the high notes.
sad to say, he's gay. saw pics of him french kissing another guy. yuck! trust me, it's hair-standing creepy.   *shivers.
on the other note, can you believe he's 26?!?!
gosh, i thought he looked 18!

kris is dubbed as the dark horse. he has this typical country-boy charm. no wonder he still has a strong female fanbase despite his marriage. his rendition of Apologize ny OneRepublic was mind-blowing! absolutely amazing for a 23 yr old uni student who also happens to be... a church leader.
sa and duck are so voting for KRIS ALLEN,

danny is very bit any mother's ideal son-in-law. his raspy voice sets him apart from the rest. you should listen to his ballads. they make me wanna cry. sometimes, i wonder if those sad songs he sings are meant for his late wife, whi passed away weeks before his successful audition.
aunt adeline and uncle tom are rooting for DANNY GOKEY.

omgomgomg!!!
i'm basically nuts over all 3!!!
anyone who's a fan of this american idol season? lemme know who you think is likely to win.   ;)

Tampines 1 With Viv!

  • Apr. 20th, 2009 at 5:42 PM
eLIZabeth
it has been unusually hot lately.
sweating is starting to become a daily compulsion.
wadeva.
it's making me sick and cranky. RAH!
been coughing since yest and down with fever this afternoon.  :(

anw, went to Tampines 1 with viv last wed. it was fun since i havent seen her for eons!!!
shopping was good though we didnt buy much.
but food in Manpuku was excellent! the banana tart, esp, is so worth the price!

you know how ppl always say that a pic speaks a thousand words. now, let the pics do the talking...   :D

His Serenading Voice

  • Apr. 16th, 2009 at 11:58 PM
eLIZabeth

last tues, david archuleta came to sg!

the crowd in Iluma went wild when the 18yr old american idol runner up appeared on stage.
the atmosphere was awesome.

went with jude and jordan.   :DD
a pity as viv couldnt make it due to work commitment.
anw, we were at the 2nd level since the 1st one was already packed when we reached an hour earlier.

jude (classmate) and i

jordan (orientation mate) and i

the banner...

the stage...

the crowd...

wad's missing???
AH, DAVID!!!

david serenading the crowd with Touch My Hand, A little Too Not Over You, Crush and A Thousand Miles.

daivid playing A Thousand Miles with an electric piano.

david looked tiny in my cam. though i've zoomed zoomed ZOOMED to the max, this is the best that i can take from the 2nd level.
there was this petite girl who came round 7pm and beg the lady in front to let her have her place. she screamed throughout the concert and burst into tears halfway through.
typical drama queen.
wadeva.
jude and i had a fantastic time laughing at her madness.
it's super entertaining!

moreover, a guy in his 30s was behind me singing along to david's songs. omg, it was off-key all the way.
i know it's bad laughing at people... but trust me, i tried controlling. it hard and we just laughed damn hard.

p/s: i've uploaded yest pics with viv into photobucket. will post it when i'm free.
gdnite peppz!

Sit Back, Relax

eLIZabeth
telemarketing ended last fri and i cant be any happier. i feel more carefree now!
no 9-6pm job.
no cranky calls.
no smelly office smell.
LIZ IS ONCE MORE A VERY HAPPY GIRL!!!  :DD

although i detest the job, i still feel that a tiny part of me wont wanna leave. i'll miss my colleagues and talking to nice cust who're willing to cooperate. sigh...
however, this is one experience which i'll never forget.
i've learnt to handle rejections and this is one important skill which can be helpful in dealing with a lot of stuffs.

today is simply my slack day... i like the sound of it.  ;)
i'm gonne ba a full-time couch potato all day. maybe i'll take short breaks in between... play suduko or word puzzles...
and tonight, i'm gonna have dinner with sa, bel and beta in chomp chomp.  ~WOOHOO!!!

tomorrow's gonna be my first day of orientation in sim. wonder how it's gonna be...
hopefully, i can get to meet really nice, friendly and helpful people who'll make my studying days there sth which i'll look forward to.

btw, mins ago, i read yip's blog and did this...

What is your True Fear?
Your Result: Being Alone

While you may act like you don't care on the outside, on the inside your biggest fear is being alone. You can be quite shy and reserved. You feel like a lot of times people don't really see the real you. You're afraid that no one will really truly love you, and that you will be alone for the rest of your life. On the inside you are great person, so just remember that and don't let your shy nature get the best of you! If you don't want to be a lone then you need to make an effort to be with someone. Show the people that you care about that you really love them, and chances are someone will always be there, even if you think they won't.
